Reinvention, step one
At the request of certain interested parties (hi Mom and Dad!) who are concerned about me making public some information that has the potential to be personally detrimental, the last blog I posted has been marked as private. To those of you who got a chance to read it, thank you for your comments. Those of you who didn’t, send me an email and I’ll tell you what’s up.
The gist of it was that it’s time for some reinvention in my life. I will be taking classes, traveling, tweaking the way I dress, and overall trying to be a better person.
Step one of that was inspired by my time with Judith Rasband at Conselle. Yesterday, I remembered a concept from my training that really stuck with me. I enjoy dressing up, and I do miss dressing up for work sometimes, much as I love my business casual trousers and sweaters. I also have a truckload of skirts and more in the works. Therefore, I decided to follow Judith’s Dress-Up Thursdays idea, which came about as a response and gentle retort to the often-sloppy “dress down Fridays”. Just for fun (and, honestly, to see people’s reactions), every Thursday I will be dressing in a much more business-formal way than I usually do. Well, every Thursday that is reasonable. I don’t really have dressy winter boots that can also handle snow and ice, so I’ll have to get creative. I may even invest in a couple of suits (my current suit is an odd tint of brown that doesn’t really go with anything).
This coming Thursday is New Year’s Eve and I’m taking the day off work, but I will be wearing a red-sequined evening gown that night at a party. I think that counts!
I think I’ll enjoy this little experiment. Who’s with me?

Hola! (*waves*) I’m definitely interested in that post. Hooray for a new decade, and hooray for self-discovery. I’m all about it.

I love it! I really like to dress up, too. AND I want an excuse to wear a red-sequined gown. *humpf*
Keep us all posted!
