Some Theories Hold True…
I’ve had a theory about ASL interpreters since I started working with them, and, after almost 2 years, it seems to be valid:
Because they don’t talk very much at their jobs (unless the client needs them to voice something), they are extra loud when they’re not actually interpreting. I’m not kidding. When there are more than two of them in the staff room, the volume level is probably five times louder than it would be with two or more regular people in there. At least.
Bless them. They’re very good at what they do, and overall very friendly and kind. But, my goodness, they can be loud!
